The Okmulgee Police Department works to enforce laws apprehend criminals and prepare cases for prosecution. The department focuses on the safety and protection of citizens and property. The Okmulgee Police Department currently employs 27 full-time officers, ranging from a chief to several patrolmen. The Okmulgee Police Department promotes education and public relations programs.
